Why Did I Attract THAT?

by Rhonda Ryder on August 2, 2009

Okay, so last week my son did the dishes and he put the glass pan on the stove on top of one of the burners.

I saw it there, but I said nothing. I thought, that’s not good. I’ve got to tell him to put it away, but I didn’t.

That night I wanted some tea, so I put the burner on. I THOUGHT I put the rear burner on for my teapot, but I put the front burner on. So guess what I was heating up nice and hot? The big, giant glass dish!

I came in and saw the red burner under the glass plate and thought, if I go over there and try and move the glass dish off the burner, it might shatter in my face.

Well, that’s exactly what happened. But I’m okay. Not injuries except a two tiny cuts, one on the bottom of my foot and one on my wrist.

I felt so grateful that I was not injured.

Instead of focusing on “Why Did I Create This?”, I just started focusing on upgrading my thoughts.

I changed “Why did I create this?” to, “Boy, I am so grateful I didn’t get hurt!”

“Thank you, God, for watching over me.”

“I feel protected and safe.”

We immediately told my son about the situation and how it’s not a good idea to put glass items on the stove, and how we probably should have removed it when we saw it.

Upgrading thoughts. That’s the name of the game.

Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade. :)
