Why Did I Attract THAT?

by Rhonda Ryder on August 2, 2009

Okay, so last week my son did the dishes and he put the glass pan on the stove on top of one of the burners.

I saw it there, but I said nothing. I thought, that’s not good. I’ve got to tell him to put it away, but I didn’t. [click to continue…]

Forgiveness Video (What’s Your Story?)

by Rhonda Ryder on July 26, 2009

Recently, I had a falling out with my sister.

Me, a Law of Attraction advocate, student and teacher.

How could this happen???

I realized I’ve created my own little “stories” about “What Happened,” and the quality of my feelings is based on the stories I tell myself. [click to continue…]

by Rhonda Ryder on July 11, 2009

Every night before I go to bed and every morning before I wake up I think of 10 things I am grateful for. This helps me get in the attitude of gratitude. It raises my vibration. It helps me focus on what I like about my life instead of what I don’t like about my life.

Here are the 10 things I am grateful for this afternoon: [click to continue…]

Happy For No Reason

by Rhonda Ryder on July 2, 2009

I’m reading Marci Schimoff’s book, Happy for No Reason.

In the book, one of the things she talks about is how she searched far and wide for 100 truly happy people and interviewed them all.

These are the “Guiding 3″ Principles she found in all 100…They basically lived their lives believing or living their lives with the following philosophies: [click to continue…]

Being Your Authentic Self (With Family???)

by Rhonda Ryder on July 2, 2009

I listened to an Abraham CD last night on the way  home from driving my kids to my parents house (they will stay for a week, which means my husband and I can eat sushi and Indian food while they’re gone!).

Abraham said we are so concerned about not creating waves or hurting other people that we constantly do things or agree to things that we don’t want to do.

Instead, imagine if someone asks you to do something and you say, “No Thank you.” And the other person asks, “Why not?” And you answer, “Because I don’t want to.” [click to continue…]

My husband and I are  in DC right now because my brother in law had a serious heart attack Sat. night. He is not in this conversation of Law of Attraction and I could not share this with him right now. He is also legally blind and has Type 2 diabetes.

My mother can’t sleep at night so she takes Tylenol EVERY night. If I tell her that is dangerous, she gets mad at me so I say nothing. [click to continue…]

You Can't Take It With You

You Can't Take It With You

Whenever you need a reminder about the meaning of life (to have fun!), watch “You Can’t Take It With You,” the 1938 Frank Capra film based on the Pulitzer Prize winning play written by George S. Kaufman.

I couldn’t one night so I stayed up and watched it.

I was more than pleasantly surprised.

Rarely does an old black and white movie move me to tears. [click to continue…]

“Words Do Not Teach, but Life Experience Does”

by Rhonda Ryder on June 2, 2009

I was reading “Money, and the Law of Attraction” by Esther and Jerry Hicks www.kidsawakening.com/money&health last night and came across this quote:

“Words Do Not Teach, but Life Experience Does

Simply hearing words, even when they are perfect words that accurately explain truths, does not bring understanding, but the combination of careful words of explanation, coupled with life experiences that is always consistent with the Laws of the Universe, does bring understanding.”

Reading this from the context of sharing The Law of Attraction with others…here’s how I look at it:

Being a role model for others is more important and more impactful than trying to explain how The Law of Attraction works using only our words.

You will be much more effective if you teach by example.

For instance, say you want to teach your kids to pursue their dreams. You can use your “words” by saying things like,

“You know honey, I really want you to pursue your dreams in life. Go for it!”

But if you aren’t pursuing your own dreams, then your words won’t carry much weight at all.

(I’ve said to my kids, “I waited until I was older to pursue my dreams because I was afraid that my dreams were not realistic. But I don’t believe that anymore. I believe everyone should follow their dreams. But you don’t have to wait until you’re my age. You can learn from me and know that you can create a life that you really love by pursuing what you love to do now.”)

If you REALLY want others to “get it”, then let them see you pursuing your dreams.

But you can also be honest with them. If you’re a  “late bloomer” like some of us, it’s okay to confess.

And don’t worry about whether you’re a “big success” or not. Just by taking actions toward your dreams is HUGE and to coin a cliché, it’s all about the journey anyway!

The people in your life will learn by your life experience and your willingness to “go for it”.

You’ll pave the way for them to follow their inner guidance.

So, what actions will you take today to dig out and dust off an old dream of yours that you’d like to pursue, just for the fun of it? Think of what a fabulous role model you’ll be to others and everybody else in your life for that matter!

P.S. If you want to get the book, “Money, and The Law of Attraction”, by Esther and Jerry Hicks, here’s a link to do just that:

You nurture
You love
You listen
You praise

You tickle
You cook
You work
You’re amazed

You wonder
You worry
You try not to nag

You holler
You apologize
Pack their lunch in a bag

Are you doing the right things?
Will their self esteem soar?
Are you working too much?
Should you be home more?

Your children are blessed
To have you by their side
They’re always connected
With their Inner Guide

Their GPS system is solid
Their senses in tune
Just nudge them to listen
They’ll fly to the moon
